Why give your child the gift of Camp Q?
Camp Q gives kids chances to Try…
…and to Shine!

-"But I don't Like Sports...
…I'd rather read my book."
"

…I'm too little…
They'll never pick me…"
Ours is a child - centered community where campers are encouraged to try new and exciting activities, learning more about themselves as each day passes.Youngsters have fun, but more important, they develop self-confidence and achieve success in a variety of ways. If your child would benefit from a summer with us, please call so that we can tell you more about the “Quinebarge Spirit”...
Program: Quinebarge is a “Traditional Summer Camp”  with Daily In-Camp Activities and Day & Overnight Trips to Regional Attractions
Participants: Co-Educational  for  100 Girls & Boys  -   Ages 7 to 15.  Sessions:  2, 3, 4, and 7 weeks from late June through mid August

Location:
Camp Quinebarge is on the shores of  Lake Kanasatka, a small, mile long lake north of Center Harbor at the top of Lake Winnipesaukee, giving us easy access to the White Mountain Region and the Coast of Maine. Our 75 Acres of pine forest and 1500’ of lakeshore including a 150’ sandy beach is 134 miles north of Boston off Interstate Rt. 93.

History and Philosophy:
Quinebarge was founded in 1936 by Tom and Ruth Kenly as a Boys camp, adopting Blue and White as the camp colors, with Indian Tribe names for the cabins.  Camp Winnetaska, established for Girls in 1917 on Little Squam Lake, became the sister camp to Q in 1969. The camps merged in 1975 bringing girls to Quinebarge and with them their camp colors Green and White. Our” Winnetaska Circle” of girls cabins honors it’s continued tradition in the Lakes Region.
Quinebarge provides a varied program to keep kids active and interested. Campers choose their activities from our “menu”, and change as their interests grow. Counselors help kids choose what they know they like and may nudge them to try some new things, too!
Quinebarge holds a non-competitive philosophy – we play and we work and we try. We enjoy  team sports, but we keep it playful… the emphasis is on individual achievement and personal growth, not winning or losing.

In our camp family campers and staff soon know each other personally.
We share interests and experiences to build lasting friendships, free of regimentation required in large camps. Activities are sometimes familiar and comfy, while others are new and challenging asking effort - but most of all they are fun!

Our Camp Family…
Campers hail from all over the United States – Hawaii to down the road in Moultonborugh! We’ve welcomed campers from the world over- Canada, France, England, Mexico, Latvia, Estonia, Japan, Spain, Germany and Russia. Counselors too can come from a variety of US States and other Nations. Our open enrollment policy helps our family share cultural and religious diversity in a harmonious community- “United by Love” (to borrow a Winnetaska motto!).
Quinebarge was founded by Tom Kenly, carried on by Tom Brunelle (who still runs our Wood Shop and Nature programs!), and is owned by Tom Hannaford, who arrived here as a camper in 1964. (Wonder why the camp newspaper is called the “TOM-TOM”?). Both of our Toms know you will soon become part of Quinebarge- adding your name to your plaque on our Kenly Mess Hall walls!
